So, you wanna learn how to operate the kiddie rides? Both Granny Bugs and Pony Parade are popular rides for small children. Granny Bugs has some vertical movement, while Pony Parade just goes around in a circle. The operation of both of these rides is identical, so I've combined them into one guide. [Taken directly from the employee
manual] [Taken directly from the employee
manual] Both rides to the same basic thing - go around in a circle. Granny Bugs has small "hills" built into the track for extra excitement. Riders sit two to a row (Pony parade has one row per car, Granny Bugs has two rows per car). The only restraint is a seat belt. The belts have plastic snap buckles to allow for quick releases. The
Positions Operator: The operator is the only position. His or Her job is to check all the seat belts and to load the ride to full capacity (if there is a line). While the ride is in motion, the operator must keep an eye on all the children. Once the ride cycle has completed, the operator goes around and unbuckles all riders and assists them if necessary.
The controls Emergency stop: If this button is pushed while the ride is in motion, the ride stops. In order to run the ride again, simply pull out the E-stop button and follow normal procedures to start the ride. At the end of each ride cycle, push the E-stop button to ensure that the ride does not start by accident. Key: The key must be in the "on" position in order for the ride to run. At the end of each ride cycle, take the key out of the control panel to keep guests from tampering with it. Foot pedal: The
foot pedal must be depressed throughout the entire cycle. If your foot
slips off the pedal, simply put it back on and then push the ride start
button to continue operation. If you need to stop the ride at any time,
simply remove your foot from the pedal. DO NO PUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN
YOUR FOOT ON THE FOOT PEDAL!!!
