Games and Coasters

May 19th, 2001 (10-4pm)

After hitting some traffic and arriving just in the nick of time, I raced down the stairs to the Rides Office. I clocked in at 9:35am. I sign in and ask my green tag what ride I'm at for the day.

"James... let's see... you're at [slight hesitation]... Fun Slides."
"Yippee..."
"[slight laughter]"

So, I head out to an exciting day at the Fun Slides. I stash my backpack underneath one of the slides, pull out the burlap sacks, drag the rug out, and sweep the queue. Finally, all four of us are at the slides, we choose our positions and rotations, and we open up.

After an early wasp nest scare, I rotate up to the top of the slide. The top is much more enjoyable than the bottom. There is a clear view of the Lightning Racer and the Wildcat, both of which are great to watch while the kids make the slow climb up the stairs.

The remainder of the day was fairly uneventful. The Fun Slides aren't exactly the most exciting thing in the world to "operate". The park was incredibly crowded, so we had a fairly long line most of the day.
