Games and Coasters

June 15th, 2001 (4-10pm)

It was another hot and humid day. I signed in at the Rides Office and was assigned the ride I was expecting to get, Pony Parade =().

After the long trek to the back of the park, I relieved the op who was at the ride and started my night of work. The park was less crowded than I had thought it would be, but I was still giving about 20 rides an hour. (2min ride time + unload/load = very little time when nobody is on the ride)

I went on first break to meet up with a few friends. When we were halfway to the break room, with no shelter in sight, it began to rain - heavily. We were completely drenched by the time we got to the break room and sat down with our pizza. But, hey, it was betting than being really hot!

When I came back from break, I noticed that the Wildmouse wasn't running. It stayed down for the ENTIRE NIGHT! That's just unheard of. I was able to find the cause. Apparently, someone came back from a ride and said, "This landed in my lap". A major bolt had broken off and landed in someone's lap! Maintenance spent the rest of the night trying to figure out where the bolt broke off of.

I closed at 9:52pm and headed back to the rides office after a not-too-bad day at the Pony Parade.
