Games and Coasters

June 10th, 2001 (10-4pm)

After clocking/signing in at the Rides Office, I headed up to the Wildcat for the daily morning meeting. I was expecting to get some kiddie ride because I had just been on Wildcat the day before. Personally, I was hoping for Granny Bugs, but expecting the FunSlides. Our green tag started to read off the assignments...

"FunSlides -- Jaime, Matt." (whew! No funslides for me today!)
"Granny bugs -- Mandy." (Darn, now I'm stuck with Pony Parade.)
"Pony Parade -- Andrew." (Whoa, what ride am I going to get?)
"Tidal Force -- Missy, Nath, Krystal, [name withheld]" (Cool!)

And so it was that I got two great rides in two days. I headed down to Tidal Force and we fired it up. I was operating first, but we only had one group of people get on. After that, we just kept sending up empty boats so that water wouldn't get backed up.

About 12:00pm, the sun finally started to come out, the tempature was approaching 75, and people started to get on the ride. I got to operate one more time before going on break at 1:30. I came back at break at 2:10 and helped out by standing near the back of the boat and slamming the peddle down when the lap bars didn't unlock. It seemed that I had only been working for a few short hours when it was time to go home ... (for the time being...)

The park was not full at all, despite a full parking lot!
