Games and Coasters

(July 31st, 6-10pm)

I met up with my Uncle and two cousins for my final day at the park as a guest. When we got there, the lines were still a tad bit long so we headed to the Looper. There was no wait and we hopped right on. It was a pretty good ride, but it's given me better rides before.

My younger cousin and my uncle decided to hop right on Coal Cracker, while my other cousin and I rode Great Bear. We waited just under 10 minutes. The ride was fun, although a bit boring. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a fantastic ride, but I've ridden it so many times that the forces just don't have the same effect as they used to.

We headed out towards Wildcat where we walked right on the backseat. As usual, this ride delivered. I never get tired of riding this thing. Everything about it just feels right. The back seat of the Wildcat is definitely the best ride in the park, hands down (or "up" as the case would be).

We took a quick ride on the Wildmouse. I really think this ride is awesome (for a wildmouse coaster). The turns at the top are nice and fast and Hersheypark leaves most of the brakes off until the very end of the ride. I think it would be cool if the car could somehow "tilt" around the turns.

Chaos was closed due to the accident at Michigan's Adventure, so... we headed to Lightning Racer. The Lightning Racer doesn't seem like an "extreme" ride as much as a "extremely FUN" ride. The ride is just plain out fun.

It started to drizzle a little bit, so I just had to hop on the Wildcat. The backseat gave an incredible ride. I wish the rain would've picked up to a downpour, but it remained a slight drizzle throughout the entire ride.

We decided to hit the waterslides. After a quick shoe/shorts change, I was ready. The dark slide had no line at all, so that's what we rode. This still scares me more than any other ride in the park. Water + complete darkness + sudden turns = very scary! At the end, I realized just how fun it was. Next up, we rode the light tube. I enjoy this one more, because I'm not screaming my head off =).

We headed back to the Wildmouse for one last ride. I sat in the back this time and noticed that the ride was a good deal more boring. The front makes all the difference on this one.

I decided to end my riding season at Hersheypark with one last backseat trip on the Comet. This ride always delivers. Yes, the midcourse brakes are on waaay too hard this year, but that doesn't stop the ride from giving loads of airtime in the back. Overrall, a great way to end my time at Hersheypark.
