May 13th, 2001 (10-3pm)

After a nice big breakfast, I headed off to the park and clocked in at 9:36am. The Wildcat group was meeting over at Tidal Force, so I headed over in the direction. My green tag assigned me to "Wildmouse", a nice change to yesterday's assignment!

I headed over and met up with the Ride lead and my other co-workers. We got our schedules and rotations together while maintenance was doing some last minute checks on the ride. After a few more minutes, we were given the "ok" to go ahead and open up.

I started off in the "Dispatcher" position. The "Dispatcher" has the job of telling people when to get on the cars and tries to find pairs so every car has no less than 3 riders. There's not much to it.

After a few minutes of waiting for riders, a family of four comes up the queue. We load them in and away they go. The come through the station and say, "That was great! Can we go again?" Since there was nobody in the queue line, we said, "sure" and they stayed on for another ride.

A little later, a group of girls came up and ended up getting 5 straight re-rides. The park was dead. Our longest line of the day was just under 10 minutes. So... it was a pretty good day to go to Hersheypark. I had a pretty good time working the 'mouse today, mostly because people kept losing stuff. A fat-- err large -- man sat down and the cap on his water bottle literally shot off and landed in the car behind him.

I saw a woman with a Great Coasters International polo-shirt on. I would've loved to find out if she worked for GCI, but employees are not supposed to talk to guests unless we need them to do something or they ask us a question. I also saw a teenager sporting an American Coaster Enthusiast t-shirt.

All-in-all, it was a good day to work. The crew had fun and the crowds were light.
