Games and Coasters

(June 24th, 4-8:30pm)

After a day at Tidal Force, I was ready to relax. I was meeting my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins in the park at 6:15pm. I had originally planned to ride the Great Bear over and over until it was time to meet them, but long lines kept me away. Oh well, time to go hit the line-less sooperdooperlooper.

Wrong! Part of the looper's track had actually fallen into the coal cracker! A piece of metal grating had fallen off the side of the sooperdooperlooper's track and was in the coal cracker's path. Both rides were closed down until maintenance could go up and take the piece off. The rides were up and running by the time I met the group.

So... with my plans demolished, and only 50 cents in my pocket, I headed to the only place I knew where I could spend and hour and a half with 50 cents -- Super Mario Bros.!! I got to the arcade and watched some guy play "Star Wars Trilogy: Arcade" for about 15 minutes. I walked on over to Mario and played for about an hour before heading back to the carrousel where I was meeting my aunt and uncle.

We waited about 20 minutes for the Comet. We managed to grab a back seat and I got plenty of airtime. Next up was the sooperdooperlooper. Always a cool ride, but not the best.

At this point, the Great Bear had a longer wait than what we were willing to stand in, as did the coal cracker. So... we headed out to the Lightning Racer and waited 3 trains. We rode on the Lightning side. This is a solid ride, but I think it feels a bit uninspired.

My cousin had never been on Chaos, so I insisted that he try it. He had a good time, although I think he came off of it a bit dizzy. We decided to hit Wildcat because it was right there. We only had a 10 minute wait for the middle of the train. I still love this ride. It's going to be hard for another wooden coaster to beat this one, IMO.

My cousin was still dizzy and he said he wanted to get wet soo... we hit Tidal Force. This was my first ride of the season. We were in the front row. The first drop wasn't as impressive as I thought it was going to be -- the massive wall of water was. You, literally, cannot see anything because you're completely engulfed in water. It was a very cool ride.

After that, we took a spin on Canyon River Rapids. We did have to wait about 10 minutes. The ride is fun, but I can't wait to see how it compares to the one at Islands of Adventure.

After being getting completely drenched by the CRR's three waterfalls, we decided to call it a night and head back home.
