(June 24th, 10-4pm) After two days of working the same kiddie ride, I was very relieved when I was sent to Tidal Force. Finally! A ride where I actually get to have some serious fun. The day started off well. We were running two boats, but we weren't having too many riders. Around noon, when the heat index really started to get up there, we had crowds flocking into the queue. We did not have any breakdowns, but we did have trouble with guests who were coming into the line without shoes. To counteract this, we had the dispatcher go back and sweep the queue looking for people who didn't have shoes. It worked out fairly well. We only had one incident the entire shift. I was at front line when this happened, so I was not involved in it in any way, shape, or form. When the gates opened to let guests onto the ride, one woman got her foot stuck in the gate. The operator closed the gate, the woman got her foot out, but then got it stuck again in another gate. She had ankle pain and went to first aid. The crew who was in the station all had to go to Rides Office and fill out a report about what happened. Besides that one incident, nothing too exciting happened. Tidal Force is one of the coolest rides to work because the water from the splash comes into the station and keeps it cool. Another day... another ride. |
