Games and Coasters

(June 20th, 4:10-10pm)

My friend and I both got off work at the same time. My friend had to get some money from his mom, so we headed out to the employee parking lot. His mom came at about 4:15pm, he got his money, and we headed into the park -- just in time for the rain to start.

At first, the rain was very light -- no more than a slight drizzle. But, after about 5 minutes, it started to pour. We headed up to the Minetown Arcade where I got four quarters for a dollar and walked around trying to find a game that I knew I could play for a long time. Finally, in one of the corners, I found one. The ORIGINAL Mario Bros. I put in a quarter and played for about 20 minutes. Another quarter goes in and I played for about 45 minutes. I was still going strong, but the rain had let up, so we decided to get in line for Great Bear.

After about a 15 minute wait, we were on the front seat. The Bear gave a good ride, but nothing better than usual. We decided to go hit the sooperdooperlooper since it was right there. No line -- we ended up waiting two trains for the back seat. Coming out of the loop in the back is very intense. The helix, however, is much better in the front.

We wanted to catch a ride on the Comet, but it had a 30 minute wait! No way! So... we headed out to Midway America where we waited 3 trains for the front seat of Wildcat. While the I prefer the back, the front gives an awesome view coming down the first drop. Next, we hit the Lightning Racer, because it never has a line. It was a good ride, but I definitely like the Wildcat more.

We walked back towards the Comet and saw that the Sidewinder had no line, so we walked right on a middle seat. The Sidewinder is a basic boomerang. Headbanging included. It's not an AWFUL ride, but it's not really that great either.

The Great Bear was on our way as well, so we hopped on the back seat. The back definitely has a very different feel to it than the front. You really get pulled through the inversions in the back, which makes them more intense. A good ride, but I still prefer the front.

We hit the back seat of the Comet, which is always a good ride. We headed out to the Wildcat, where we managed to grab a backseat ride. After an awesome ride, we raced back to the entrance for another go, but alas! the queue was closed for the night. I decided to try to grab one last ride on the Great Bear. We ran into the queue and into the line for the front seat. We ended up getting the final ride of the night! whoohoo!

So, after a great day of riding, we headed back to the employee entrance and "chilled" until the party...
