June 16th, 2001 (4-10pm) It had been raining all day when I arrived at the park. Had it not been a Saturday, I'm sure that the park would have been forced to shut down due to low attendance. However, a good deal of people still remained. I headed to Ride's Office where I clocked in and was given my assignment... "Hm.. you can head on up to Wildcat". Yes! I made the long trek up to the 'Cat quickly, relieved the person at frontline, and stayed a frontline for about 45 minutes before going up to the station. For some bizarre reason, Wildcat was only running one train. This was due to rain. Yes, rain. Hersheypark doesn't want a train flying through the trim brakes and ram the one in the station. Yeah, sure... We had a fairly long line all day -- about 35 minutes. Not bad for a Saturday, but, considering it was raining ALL DAY, that was much longer than usual. Nothing extraordinary happened. It was a fun day, but then again, most days ARE fun. I would have loved to grab a ride on Wildcat in the rain, but I'm sure I'll get the chance eventually. |
