Games and Coasters

(July 7th, 10-4pm)

After a fun, yet somehow tedious, day of working the Wildmouse I was glad to be at... what?!?... Wildmouse yet again!

Today, though, I was with a much livelier (and friendlier) crew, so I had a great time. It really is amazing how the people you work with and totally change the experience on the job. Barring that, however, the day was sort of standard...until 2:15pm ...

Before I get to the cool part of the day, I have to explain something. On Saturday's, NOBODY is scheduled to be off. Therefore, there are tons of extra people. Today at Wildmouse, we had 6 people. That's two extra. Well, one is the ride lead, so they don't have to "work" -- they just "supervise". As for the other, well... hm... they can sweep.

At 2:15pm I got to sweep. It was the highlight of my day. I'm serious. I would hate to do be a sweep all day, but for 45 minutes -- it's really not bad at all. I walked down to Tidal Force and then down the path that goes behind Tidal Force. Hardly anybody was on it so I pretending to do some sweeping (for about 5 minutes) while watching the riders on Canyon River Rapids get soaked. I walked back to Wildmouse via the path near Lightning Racer. Back to Tidal Force I swept before realizing that I had to get back up to 'Mouse's station. My time as a sweep had come to an end =(. I collected about 30 cigarrette butts, 5 french fries, 10 plastic bottle caps, and quite a few various scraps of paper. Not a bad catch.

Another hour later, I was on my way home.
