Games and Coasters

(July 4th, 10-4pm)

The park didn't do as much as I thought it would decorating-wise for the 4th. They had a MASSIVE American Flag hanging from Tidal Force as well as a few smaller flags hanging off the Wildcat's exit ramp. They also played a variety of "patriotic" songs throughout the entire park's stereo system.

After a great day at Wildcat, I felt a sense of impending doom as to my next ride assignment. Turns out I was right - after I got sent to FunSlides. UGH! Oh well... better to get it over with on a nice, overcast, semi-crowded day than to have to do it on a Saturday.

Of course... I also had to come in and clean at 9:00am. I wanted to give the Wildcat trains a nice cleaning, but I was sent to sweep the queue of Wildmouse instead. Oh well...

I got to FunSlides and, wouldn't you know it, there were two HUGE PUDDLES -- change that to lakes, on the bottom of either slide. We started cleaning it off at about 10:00am and finished one slide at 10:40am. It was a LONG process. One slide dried off and good to go. One more to dry. I, of course, got to do the honors.

By "honors" I mean hopelessly wiping the slide with a piece of wiper blade in an effort to eventually clean all the water off. Somehow, I actually managed to do this and then dry it off with a rag. After sliding down each individual slide about 3 times, we opened both slides up.

The rest of the day was a "typical" day at FunSlides. By "typical" I mean "incredibly dull and boring, although never quite as bad as I think it will be." Oh well... I'm sure to get a good ride on Friday... hehehe...
