(July 30th, 10-4pm) I headed out to the morning meeting in the fair tent. Not much going on... it was the usual babble... (keep breaks on time, pay attention at frontline, etc..). We got our ride assignments and, much to my surprise, I was headed for Tidal Force. It was quite hot and Tidal Force developed a long line very quickly. By 12:00pm, we had an hour wait. We (the Tidal Force crew) kept the line moving at a good tempo, but we really could've used the third boat. Despite the long wait time, we didn't have any problems with line jumpers or in-line smokers. At 4:00pm, maintenance showed up to put a third boat on, but there was no sign of my relief. So, I ended up getting to work with three-boat operation for about 20 minutes. Three-boat operation is basically the same as two-boat except you have to load the boats faster. The crew has approximately 40 seconds to get the boat fully loaded and checked before stacking of boats occurs. Stacking on Tidal Force is a very bad thing, so we don't let it happen. Finally, my relief did show up and I headed home around 4:25pm. |
