July 15th, 2001 (9:15pm-10pm) I was working Crazy Climber (which is in the fair tent) earlier in the evening. The fair tent closes at 9:00pm and I wasn't getting picked up until 10pm. Therefore, I had about 45 minute of pure ride time. First off, I went and rode the Comet. Back seat of this thing is still great -- if you keep your hands up. If you hold on to the lap bar, you get no airtime... but... if you keep you hands up, you get out-of-control airtime on the first two hills and some nice floating air on the return bunny hops. After a nice backseat ride on the Comet, I headed to Great Bear. I had to wait about 5 minutes for a middle-row seat. I think I'm getting "immune" to this ride. The helix and drop are still fun, but the loop is just boring now. It doesn't even make me feel like I'm upside down. I really still love the twist at the top of the immelman, though. I was going to go back and ride the Comet again, but I looked at my watch and noticed that it was 9:55pm. Darn! Time to go... |
